This video focusses reducing ammonia emissions from agriculture by covering slurry and liquid digestate from anaerobic digestion stores with permeable covers. By slurry, this includes liquid pig and cow slurry.

Mary describes how a permeable cover over lagoons, metal tanks and concrete stores will reduce ammonia emissions plus reducing emissions of methane and nitrous oxide.

Permeable cover types include crusting, straw, LECA granules and hexa-covers. The potential reduction in ammonia emissions of each cover type is described. The potential merits of tree shelter belts are also described.
