Kybella is the first and only FDA-approved injectable drug that contours and improves the appearance of a double chin. The medication causes the destruction of the fat cells. The fat dissolves and is excreted by the kidneys and intestines. Multiple treatments may be required.

The active ingredient is synthetic deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body to help break down and absorb dietary fat.
