The Berlin Cathedral in Berlin, Germany is one of the most beautiful pieces of architecture I've ever seen. In 1940, the blast waves of Allied bombing blew away part of the windows. On 24 May 1944, a bomb of combustible liquids entered the roof lantern of the dome. The fire could not be extinguished at that unreachable section of the dome.
I’m an American who moved to Berlin in 2017. In 2015 I backpacked through Europe for 3 months and fell in love with the art, architecture and the history. I went home, quit my job, sold my house, and moved to Germany.
