This how to video demonstrates what I did to use an Ikea Idanas piece of furniture to be the cabinet portion of a recessed shelving unit. You could argue it's like a built in also. I will add floating shelves later. This easy DIY Ikea hack is a great way to repurpose an Idanas cabinet for greater storage in your home if you have dead space within your walls.
