South Nitshill in the South West of Glasgow regularly held a Gala that lasted a week. the first event was the crowning of the Gala Queen followed by event every day for the next week including a fancy dress parade, bonny baby competition, best pet and lots lots more. On the final day the Gala Queen would be paraded around the streets and in the evening there would be a Gala Dance.
