With a custom firmware this radio can send off grid messages at very long distances and receive a far wider frequency range than intended. This is the Quansheng UV-K5(8). It is an extremely cheap dual band handheld radio, but unlike similar radios before it, this might be the most hackable radio.
Update: There is an even better firmware available by kamilsss655, which has all the same features as the ones described in this video, but also retains vox, fm radio and even includes message encryption, options for what encoding to use and lots more. Get it here: [ Ссылка ]
