Oliwa, in Gdansk, Poland, is a sleepy suburb 11 kilometers northwest of the city centre.
While spending one month living in Gdansk I decided to visit Oliwa and have a look around.
There are a number of old buildings and some great examples of well-preserved architecture into the neighborhood.
Oliwa was an independent and wealthy city between 1874 and 1926 so there are a lot of large, prosperous homes in the quiet city streets.
The best way to get to Oliwa from Gdansk is to take the SKM commuter train from the main station.
