We hosted an intimate conversation about doing politics differently with Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi on March 12th 2015.
Mayor Naheed Nenshi has approached politics differently from the very start. Since his first campaign, he and his team embraced the practice of “politics in full sentences,” a contrast in the archetypal political campaign that speaks only to the “lowest common denominator” voter. For reasons we’ll hear more about, it’s working. He’s was recently awarded the World Mayor Prize, by an international urban research instituted, after being nominated by numerous Calgarians and other Canadians. In our conversation with Mayor Nenshi, we explore his approach to politics, and how it shows up in both his campaigns and in his day-to-day execution of the job of Mayor in Calgary.
