At the center of many controversies, Excise officials on Sunday seized Tonic Elite Liquor Shop, which has been operating since 2016 at Jubilee Hills Road No. 36, against the Excise Act.


Excise department has rejected renewal of Tonic Elite liquor shop as per excise rules.

Auction of Liquor Stores is conducted every two years by Excise Department.

But in 2016, the owner of Tonic Elite shop applied to renew the permission of this shop owner who took permission of Tonic Elite shop.

The Excise Department rejected the application for renewal of the Tonic Elite shop against the Excise Act.

By August 31, the Tonic Elite shop is allowed. Since September 1, running a Tonic Elite liquor shop has become a legal offense and the shop was seized on Sunday.
Hyderabad Excise Deputy Commissioner Shastri Garu, Assistant Commissioner Anil Kumar Reddy, Jubilee Hills CI Vasudeva Rao and other excise police have seized the Tonic Elite Liquor Shop.

10,291 liquor bottles were counted in the Tonic Elite Liquor Store. The value of this liquor is estimated to be Rs.1.70 crore.

After counting the liquor bottles, the shop was sealed.
