Boston police are investigating an attempted arson at a seven-story residential building under construction in the city’s Allston neighborhood. Officials responded to 35 Braintree St. at about 8:15 a.m. for a report of an explosive device. Witnesses at the site said some kind of device was found sticking out of a floorboard on the sixth floor just before 8 a.m. All contractors were pulled out and the arson squad was brought in. No explosive devices were found, and no injuries were reported. The incident remains under investigation.
