in this video i have shown how to design the continuous slab of building. is 456 2000 code has been used and all references are given while solving the problem. further check for deflection and shear are not carried out. that part will be covered in other video. this video is part of playlist design of rcc building manually. one way continuous slab is designed as per coefficient of bending and shear of is 456 2000. first we calculate effective depth. second step is to find out effective length. third step is to calculate load coming on structure. finally we calculate moment and this part is related to analysis. now design part will start. we will calculate ast and provide steel in the form of spacing.
after watching this video you will come to know
1. how to design slab of building manually
2. how to design one way continuous slab using is 456 2000
3.how to design two way slab
4. how to calculate effective depth and length
5.how to design building manually.
Two-way slabs subjected mostly to uniformly distributed loads resist them primarily by bending about both the axis. However, as in the one-way slab, the depth of the two-way slabs should also be checked for the shear stresses to avoid any reinforcement for shear. Moreover, these slabs should have sufficient depth for the control deflection. Thus, strength and deflection are the
requirements of design of two-way slabs.
