The Santa Rosa Symphony Youth Orchestra was formed in October 1959 and is currently led by Bobby Rogers, previously Conductor of the Aspirante Youth Orchestra since 2011. The youth orchestra has helped prepare musicians to pursue a music career with professional ensembles throughout California, including the Santa Rosa Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Musica Angelica, San Francisco Opera Orchestra, American Bach Soloists, Oakland Symphony, Sacramento Symphony and Napa Valley Symphony. The orchestra is for advanced players aged 12-23 years old. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
