The North American T-28 Trojan was manufactured by North American Aviation in the early 1950s. It was mainly a trainer for the Air Force and the Navy. It saw action in the Vietnam War as a counterinsurgency aircraft. On September 24, 1949, the XT-28 was flown for the first time. It was designed to replace the WWII trainer T-6. A total of 1,948 T-28s were built. Air Heritage Aviation Museum’s T-28 was obtained through the Pennsylvania State Surplus Program in 2004.
