"Kucheza Mpira" read by Achille, native Kiswahili speaker from Bukavu, DR Congo. 📚 These easy Swahili stories for beginners come from the exercises and hand-drawn images in the famous Kiswahili study manual in English: "Swahili: Foundation for Speaking, Reading and Writing" by Hinnebusch, Mirza and Stein. This classic Kiswahili study manual has helped many people begin their "safari" in the Kiswahili language. These readings of the stories in this manual are Swahili listening comprehension practice. They are the newest available audio accompaniment to this classic Kiswahili language book. 📖
As you follow along in your book, you will hear I have changed some words– to update the Kiswahili to current, colloquial Kiswahili, rather than formal textbook Kiswahili! I teach conversational Kiswahili. 🗣️ Listening comprehension is the most difficult skill to sharpen, so use these stories to boost your Kiswahili listening comprehension. When you have understood the story, look away from the text and just listen, and immerse yourself in the narrative.👂 Hope this helps you on your Kiswahili journey. Safari njema!
