The Japanese version of Streets of Rage 3, and the superior version. Easier than the US version, and Axel, Blaze, and Skate/Sammy have their original colors. The story here involves Mr. X trying to start a full scale war with Rakushin bombs planted around Wood Oak City. The female enemies are more scantily clad in this version, and then there's Ash, an enemy and secret character removed from western versions due to being a blatant homosexual stereotype.
I'm gonna be honest, this is the SoR/BK game I have played the least (more so for the US version). The game can be frustrating at times, with boss fights generally being annoying. In fact, the final boss made me had to make a second playthrough (this one here) due to the time limit and me not remembering how to properly fight the boss. And changes made in the US version doesn't help things at all.
There are things I do like in this game though over other titles. The ability for every character to run and dodge roll, the rechargeable meter once full allows special attacks to be used without consuming health, unique attacks with the weapons, and the upgrade system with the scoring, powering up special moves. And while the soundtrack here isn't the best in the series, it's still got some bangers.
Anyhow, I play through the game as Blaze Fielding, and obtain the good (and canon) ending. Some parts didn't go so smoothly, but I managed through.
