The Flap T is essential if you want to have an American accent. Native speakers almost always use this in their regular speech. At first it may seem strange, but using the flap T actually makes speech easier. Instead of switching from voiced to voiceless sounds, the flap T allows us to continue through with a voiced sound once the vocal chords have been activated.
