After 5 years, Reddit reopened the canvas on r/place for everyone to mess around with. Many communities sought to leave their mark on the canvas by making leaving artwork to represent their community. For the osu! community, it was more of the same for what we did 5 years ago. The plan was simple: get everyone in the osu! community together to coordinate and build the osu! logo on r/place. With an even larger player base than what the osu! community had 5 years ago, coordination and efficiency were at highs no one could've ever seen coming. Thanks to the leadership of Emanfman alongside the r/osuplace community and Discord server, the osu! community were able to effortlessly bring their artworks to life. It wasn't just the osu! logo that the community was trying to construct, they were trying to construct much much, more. But with the success of the osu! community on the canvas comes people who seek to destroy their work. xQc, the largest Twitch streamer in the world, sought destroy the many creations on r/place. Though he did not initially target the osu! community itself, he destroyed the artwork of the factions that the osu! community allied with. Word got around to xQc that his attacks were being negated by the osu! community, and he began to target the osu! community with his attacks. What then followed was some of the craziest events osu! has ever seen. As the representative of the osu! community on r/place, BTMC was put in a call with xQc alongside Mizkif, ironmouse, and moistcr1tikal. To think that the osu community would be in talks with these massive streamers is ridiculous on its own, but we weren't there for laughs and giggles. The goal was to form an alliance with xQc, or at least get on friendlier terms so that the two forces would not be attacking each other. This failed miserably. An infamous argument broke out between BTMC and xQc, and attempts at remedying the situation were futile. It was then that xQc unleashed a wave of attacks on the osu! community. The osu! community was now at war against the largest Twitch streamer on the platform. From a numbers perspective, overcoming this challenge is impossible. There is simply too many people that the osu! community have to fight against to preserve their artwork. But one thing numbers don't account for is the persistence and determination of the osu! community. And what followed was one of the most magical and crazy moments that osu! has ever seen.
If you want to watch a more in-depth analysis of the osu! community's war on r/place, I suggest you watch polars' video ([ Ссылка ]) and BTMC's video when it comes out in the near future.
