Detailed documentation of a horse giving birth with several stages through the labour.
From early signs of foaling until the placenta falls out.
Documenting stages of the labour that we´ve noticed during the foaling of a colt by our horse.
By the first signs of milk dripping from teats (lactation), the water breaking, sign of contractions, foaling and the placenta falling out. Detailed with time and description through every stage documented.
This is our Arabian mare, Isabella. She is a very experienced mother, giving birth to her 7th foal in this video. We believe horses have been giving birth for thousands of years without needing too much of human interference and pulling during labour, *unless the mare is in medical need for help, which she was not in this case.
So that's why we have not interfered too much and given the mare peace and support throughout the whole process of giving birth. As you can see in this video, she did a great job, and both the mare and foal are healthy and strong. *But please show understanding for others that might need help and assist during due to emergency. And have an understanding for those who chose the natural way with least interference, or letting the horse give birth without help.
We made this video to share with you our experience with letting the mare give birth naturally, and for you to see from the beginning until the end as an education and knowledge about the stages through labour. Thank you for watching.
