I found an early bird of Barn swallow (Hirundo rustica, family Hirundinidae), perched on a red flag hanging under the eaves. The swallow preened itself and sometimes performed the wing exercise. Their mud nest beside the red banner was deserted at the end of breeding season (@4:11, 5:11). I wonder if the swallow was a fledgling rather than a parent. Filmed at dawn (around 4:20 am) on early-July 2017 in Japan.
