(15 Apr 2017) The annual Holy Week celebrations continued on Friday in Colombia's Popayan, which was lit by festooned floats bearing religious icons.
Popayan is a university city best known for its historic colonial centre, where the celebrations of Holy week were declared intangible cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO in 2009.
The celebration is taking on special significance this year ahead of Pope Francis' visit to Colombia in September.
