In 1997, Dodge teamed up with the Organisation Exploitation Compétition Automobiles, or French ORECA racing team, to create the Viper GTS-R, which was highly successful and won the 1997 FIA World Championship. This pretty much dictated that Dodge produce and offer a streetcar version of this victorious race car for public sales. Dodge decided to produce only a limited number of the 1998 Viper GTS-R. A hundred cars were produced for sale, and in 1998 Dodge Viper GTS-R was the closest thing to an actual race car that anyone could buy. The special edition car was individually numbered and finished in 'stone shite' with 'Viper blue' stripes including other 'Viper GTS-R' limited edition accoutrements. With the combination of the limited production, the racing legacy, and the unbelievable-stunning performance record of this prodigious car, it is said to be one of the most desirable cars of its era!
