I'm excited to test the new Viper 6 from Ozone. This wing is lightweight and super efficient, making it a great choice for low-wing or zero-wing launches. It offers up to 30% longer flight times compared to similar wings, combining the efficiency of a paragliding wing with the speed of a paramotor wing.
The Viper 6 features Ozone's lightest fabric ever, coated with silicone coating for added durability. While the lightweight fabric has its benefits, durability can sometimes be a concern. However, from tests, this fabric has been shown to be quite robust.
One unique aspect of the Viper 6 is the PK riser system, which simplifies speed control but might be a bit complex for some users. I share my thoughts on this and why simpler risers might be a safer option for most pilots.
In this video, I demonstrate a zero-wind launch to showcase the wing's easy handling and discuss its incredible efficiency during flight. With the Viper 6, I achieve about an hour and 20 minutes of flight time on the 4.8 kWh battery, pulling only 3.3 kW for level cruising.
I also perform a series of efficiency tests at different trim levels to highlight how this wing performs under various conditions. Whether you're an electric or gas flyer, the Viper 6's efficiency, lightweight fabric, and stable performance make it an excellent choice for cross-country flights.
