The London Transport museum's beautifully restored 4 car 1938 tube stock train in original red livery was run on a series of trips starting at Acton Town station and along the piccadilly line via Rayners Lane to Uxbridge and return.
The 85 year old train performed impeccably and views up the line through the open driver's cab door provided magnificent views on a clear sunny day.
Congratulations to all the museum restorers and LT operational staff for a well planned and executed trip down memory lane.
The later sequences in the film record the every-day busy platforms at Harrow on the Hill as commuters wait for their trains to get them home. The film concludes with scenes filmed from a Marylebone-bound Chiltern LIne diesel train.
