Bodies Burnt, Decapitated: Haiti Police and Civilians Kill 28 Gang Members | Firstpost America
Armed gangs launched an operation in Haiti’s capital Port-Au-Prince on Tuesday night. Gang members flocked to Port-au-Prince’s upscale neighbourhoods in trucks and buses. However, they were ambushed by Haitian Police and locals of the Petion-Ville community killed gang members. Haiti’s police say at least 28 gang members were killed and several others were wounded and have gone into hiding. Several locals say that the gang members belonged to Jimmy Cherizier, aka Barbecue’s gang who have been carrying out violence since February this year. Residents resorted to using stones and bottles to attack the gang members. However, the Haitian government and police still lack in providing security to civilians.
