In Halifax, Iain Rankin, the premier of Nova Scotia, and Dr. Robert Strang, the province's chief medical officer of health, provide an update on the provincial response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. They announce that Nova Scotia is reopening to the rest of Canada on June 30 with modified isolation requirements. They also announce new quarantine requirements for travellers from New Brunswick, as that province has already opened up on June 17 to Atlantic Canada as well as to all Canadians who have received at least one shot of a COVID-19 vaccine. The isolation requirements for New Brunswick travellers and non-residents of Atlantic Canada will be based on vaccination status and testing. The update comes as Nova Scotia prepares to reopen its borders to the other Atlantic Canadian provinces on June 23 at 8 a.m. (June 22, 2021)
