Why did Yoda send Ezra to Malachor in Star Wars Rebels? It’s a question I don’t think is directly answered in the series, because our heroes are quickly thrown into danger fighting against Maul and three Inquisitors. But I believe the lesson Yoda wanted to pass on was something he said in his face to face talk with the young Jedi. Winning a fight isn’t as important as how you choose to win. I think Yoda wanted to show Ezra that war and conflict lead to destruction for both parties. On Malachor the remains of Sith and Jedi are scattered across the battlefield, husks of what they once were, indistinguishable from each other. I think Yoda wanted Ezra to see that war blurs the lines between right and wrong, and a single minded quest to kill your enemy leads to becoming more and more like them.
