Clashes between rival factions on the streets of Kiev have broken out on Sunday as the country faces a growing political crisis.
Demonstrators are demanding new elections and the impeachment of President Viktor Yanukovich. They are defyingof a court order banning protests.
Protesters said they are angry at the government's refusal to sign a trade deal with the European Union.
President Yanukovych has said he cannot afford to sacrifice economic ties with with Russia.
