(18 Mar 2015) Bosnian Serbs on Wednesday reacted with outrage to news that eight men have been arrested in connection with the 1995 mass killings in the eastern Bosnian town of Srebrenica.
Serbian police arrested the men suspected of slaughtering more than 1,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys in pre-dawn raids on Wednesday.
On the streets of Sarajevo and Belgrade some residents said they were against the arrests, adding that those accused were innocent.
Sokolac resident Dule Novosel said the men arrested were not guilty and that it was sad "our own authorities are doing this."
However the relatives of the victims of the massacre welcomed the news.
Kada Hotic, who lost several family members in the violence, said those responsible must be punished, adding "our neighbours (Serbia) are finally showing some conscience."
Serbian prosecutors initially arrested seven suspects at different locations in Serbia, then caught the eighth suspect later after an hours-long manhunt.
Prosecutors said they are trying to locate more suspects who may be hiding in Bosnia.
