The 6-year-old girl who was raped in Odisha died on Sunday after battling for life for eight days at the SCB Medical College and Hospital. She was rescued in a critical condition from a school campus in Jagannathpur village on the evening of April 21. A 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident on April 22 and remanded to judicial custody on charges of rape and attempt to murder under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
