If you've ever tried the built-in air traffic control facilities in Microsoft Flight Simulator, while they are perhaps better than anything that came before, they are certainly not as good as a real human being on the end of the radio that can react to your current situation. That's where VATSIM comes in. Today we take a very brief look at VATSIM, and explain what it is. In the future we'll do some flights with live ATC coverage, and also look at how you might learn the ropes.
