Fun and games today.! Here we eventually see 47749 hauling a now obedient 701038, after it earlier came to a halt outside Kettering with dragging brakes on the unit. After some attention and two attempts it got going again, and made it to Eastleigh, 188 late.
47749 then left as 0M10 up to Leicester L.I.P., however it would only make it as far as Basingstoke before failing and having to be rescued back to Eastleigh!
Not a great day for the trip at all.!!
(The rescue loco for 0M10 was 66720, borrowed off the 6E15 Eastleigh - Scunthorpe run, which was consequently late leaving)
