Karnataka Muslim Quota Row | Supreme Court refuses to stay government order; questions govt's "flawed and shaky" decision-making process. The Government Order (GO) scraping off the nearly three-decade-old 4% OBC reservation provided to Muslims under Category 2B was apparently based on an interim report of the Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes. "Karnataka government's decision to raise 2% quotas for Vokkaliga, Lingayat each; scrapping 4% OBC quota for Muslims prima facie shaky and flawed," the Supreme Court said.The Court stated that the State could have revoked the reservations granted to Muslims in the State prior to receiving the final report.
