Developing emotional resilience in children 👧🏻👶🏻is necessary to help them overcome challenging situations🤕. As parents, building emotional resilience in our children from an early age is important. Diverse experiences include family gatherings, and encouraging them to interact 👥with different individuals can empower them to face challenges with confidence. Additionally, children with strong emotional intelligence have traits like :
🔸Confidence- It's important to avoid using fear and shame to discipline our children and guide them to learn from their mistakes. This will help children feel confident and openly express themselves.
🔸Good Problem-solving Skills- Giving independence to children happens when parents allow them to make mistakes and learn from them. This is done by Encouraging children to ask questions and consider possible solutions to problems, which helps them understand the nature of the problem.
🔸Ability to face challenges and bounce back- Encouraging children to solve their problems without intervening too quickly can help them become more confident. It's important to support your child in facing challenges confidently by making them learn from difficulties. Parents should avoid instilling fear or discouraging their children from trying new things.
🔸Allowing mistakes- When your child faces challenges or makes mistakes, teach them how to handle that situation. Instead of shaming or punishing, guide them to see the situation from different perspectives and learn from their experiences.
🔸Age-appropriate independence- raising emotionally resilient children who are independent and capable of making decisions. Parents can do this by gradually allowing giving age-appropriate independence, making mistakes, and learning from them.
🔸Healthy coping skills- Emotional resilience isn't about suppressing emotions but managing them using tools and techniques to navigate challenging emotions. This is done by encouraging open emotional expression and teaching children an emotional vocabulary that helps them navigate complex feelings.
🔸Healthy social support- Encourage your child to engage with individuals of all ages, from peers to adults, through activities like social events, team sports, and family gatherings. Exposure to diverse social interactions helps children develop the confidence to communicate and adapt in various settings
