You don’t know the going swims, the spots, the make-up of the lakebed, the best rigs, the habits of the carp or what bait to use, so we’ve enlisted the help of Olly Sanders to demonstrate exactly how he tackles a venue he's never seen before.
We sent Olly to the Stanwick Lakes complex in Northamptonshire to fish the popular Mallard Lake. Not only had Olly never seen this venue before, but he hadn’t fished at all in six months, yet what transpired was a red-letter session for Olly, culminating in one of the greatest moments of his angling life – a new Stanwick Mallard Lake record!
