Jidoka
The Jidoka principle has come from Toyota where they used to make automatic looms. If a wire snapped during the production, the machine automatically stopped and people would have time to replace the faulty wire before the output was complete. This system was invented by Sakichi Toyoda and was later established in the car factory by Eiji Toyoda and Taiichi Ohno as one of the foundations of Lean.
