Jude sits down at the Toronto International Film Festival for a photo session with the effervescent model-turned-actor April Telek. As earthy as she is beautiful Telek cracks wise about her Miss Canada years and the roles available to buxom blondes over 30. Telek is also a sci-fi star (Stargate SG-1) with a massive "nerdlinger" following. Her starring role as the aging B-Movie star Janna in indie director Katrin Bowen's sleeper hit, Amazon Falls has been compared to Mickey Roarke's star turn in The Wrestler, and recently earned Telek the WIFTV Artistic Merit Award.

Now sporting brunette locks, Telek is finding challenging new roles, and her certitude: she's a contender. To quote Telek after she made an astute observation, "Jeez Louise, the brown is kicking in!"
