StudioRSR competed in their first ever Global Time Attack competition. In order to stay in the running for the 2021 Season of Bimmer Challenge, we had to drive 2.5hrs away from Buttonwillow to Willow Springs to compete in the 2nd to last round of the season and maintain our podium position for the season.
Also competing at Global Time Attack, Jason brought out his newly purchased 2018 Porsche GT3RS to run in Limited Class.
With our minimalistic build philosophy in mind, we competed our 2021 M3 G80 on stock suspension, H&R Springs, and SPL adjustable arms with 100% stock power. Our previous best time in 100% stock form was 1:54 on the same track (Buttonwillow CW13). For BimmerChallenge classing rules, we've only added:
- Nankang CRS tires (275/30/19) squared
- H&R Sport springs
- Full SPL adjustable suspension
- Recaro Pole Position seat
- Our StudioRSR G80 M3 Roll Bar
With these minimal mods for BImmer Challenge, our G80 M3 was fit for Global TIme Attack Enthusiast Class, but because we are a shop, we were only allowed to run in Street Class. Our personal goal of a 1:50 lap time quickly diminished after our first few practice sessions realizing that running such a small tire width (275's) squared, wasn't fit for such a heavy car at ~3800lbs.
