Robust marketing strategies are needed to save Uganda’s $100 million horticulture industry as the country’s vegetables and fruits continue to rot away on major high ways upcountry due to poor storage and falling prices.
Farmers also blame the government's laxity to market key export produce such as avocados, bananas, hot pepper and eggplants among others for the lack of visibility of the country’s fresh produce in foreign markets.
