Christina Tomlinson will provide an overview of her career in the Foreign Service. Tomlinson will describe her career path, provide career advice, and discuss life lessons.
She is the minister counselor for public affairs at the U.S. Mission to the European Union. Tomlinson came to Brussels from Islamabad, Pakistan, where she served in the same capacity. During her Foreign Service career, she has served in U.S. embassies and consulates in Istanbul, Turkey; Budapest, Hungary; and Guangzhou, China; and as an intern in Vientiane, Laos. In Washington, Tomlinson served with the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs; with the special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan; and in several capacities in the Executive Secretariat, including as part of the traveling staff for Secretary Colin Powell and Secretary Condoleezza Rice. Before joining the Department of State, she was a presidential management fellow at the U.S. Department of Commerce and the administrative officer at the UN Information Centre in Washington, D.C.
