What can we say... it's almost Halloween - and seemed like the perfect time to break out an insane Zombie tiki cocktail recipe.
The Zombie, a classic (some might argue THE classic) tiki cocktail. A blend of multiple rums (traditionally some overproof), Don's Mix (2:1 White Grapefruit Juice & Cinnamon Syrup), lime juice, and well - a multitude of different ingredients depending upon whose and what era of recipe you're following.
Probitas is a blend of rums from both Foursquare Rum Distillery in Barbados, and Hampden Estate in Jamaica - so why not just amp up this Zombie Cocktail variation with additional releases from those namesake distilleries.
Be wary - this tiki cocktail is certainly POTENT enough to wake the dead.
1 1/2 ozs Probitas Rum
1 1/2 ozs Foursquare 2008 Rum
1 oz Hampden Estate Overproof Rum
3/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice
3/4 oz John D. Taylor's Velvet Falernum
1/4 oz Grapefruit Juice
Barspoon Cinnamon Syrup
Barspoon Kübler Verte Suisse Absinthe
2 Dashes of Bitters
Barspoon of Grenadine
Combine all ingredients in a shaker tin, add crushed ice, shake, do not strain and empty into a tall highball / chimney / pint glass - most preferably a Marvel's The Hulk Geeki Tiki Mug.
Top with additional crushed ice. Garnish with Maraschino Cherries, fresh mint, and a cherry syrup drizzle (optional if you choose to coat the glass... just fair warning... it definitely gets a bit sticky ;) )
