Several Mexican states were dealing with the aftermath of Tropical Storm Chris on Monday as Hurricane Beryl strengthened to Category 5 and churned through southeastern Caribbean.
On Sunday night, a tropical depression near the eastern Mexico coastal city of Veracruz briefly strengthened into Tropical Storm Chris, the third named storm of the season.
