Acquired in the first round by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2016 NFL Draft (17th overall), Keanu Neal was an essential part of the Falcons' rookie class that led the way to the Super Bowl. Neal's penchant for forcing fumbles via jarring hits helped to establish him as an emerging playmaker as his coverage abilities in shutting down opposing tight ends improved steadily, leading to his first Pro Bowl berth in 2017. However, early season-ending injuries in both 2018 and 2019 left Neal with a lot to prove. The Falcons had exercised the fifth-year option on Neal's contract in 2019, making the upcoming 2020 season absolutely crucial to his NFL future.
Keanu Neal has been undertaking another long stretch of repair, recovery, and rehabilitation, in hopes that he will be able to reclaim his spot as one of the NFL's best strong safeties.
