In this video Alastair Penman (@SaxophoneResources) discusses and demonstrates the Claude Delangle classical Alto Sax mouthpiece by Selmer, Paris. Available via: [ Ссылка ]
Building on the amazing success of the Concept Selmer mouthpiece, the French company have added this new 'Claude Delangle' model to their classical/contemporary range of mouthpieces.
It features a more open tip than the concept (165 vs 152) with the same facing length. However, the combination of a more open tip, combined with the metal ring and inner metal socket means this mouthpiece has a fair amount more projection and 'go' than the Concept which is arguably more subtle.
Selmer say this about their new Delangle model:
"This pioneering bi-material mouthpiece has beendsigned in close collaboration with Claude Delangle. The metal ring is characteristic of Adolphe Sax's first mouthpieces and its cutaway design testify to a privileged relationship between tradition and the latest advances of the Concept family. The gold-plated metal ring lines the entire bore and allows for a denser, fuller sound with increased projection"
