"Today marks the end of an incredible career as my partner works her final shift as an explosives detection K9 with the NFTA Transit Authority Police Department. Since 2016, this amazing pup has been by my side, making the world safer and brighter with her wagging nub and irresistible charm.
Together, we have journeyed across the country to work multiple super bowls, a presidential inauguration, and countless community events. And I’ll never forget the fun we had when we went through training together at the Lackland Air Force base in Texas.
Lyka isn't just a skilled worker; she's a social butterfly who's always nudging for head scratches and convincing strangers to sneak in a quick belly rub (even if it sometimes bent the rules!).
As she steps into retirement, Lyka will get to enjoy unlimited playtime at home—fetch, tug-of-war,
Kongs, and tennis balls. Her joy at these simple pleasures mirrors the enthusiasm she brought to her work every day.
