On Wednesday April 3, Amelia Rudolph, founder and artistic director of pioneering vertical dance troupe BANDALOOP, became the second woman ever to perform one of acclaimed choreographer Trisha Brown's most fascinating site-specific dance works, Man Walking Down the Side of a Building.
Rudolph and the rigging experts of BANDALOOP collaborated extensively with Trisha Brown Dance Company and Center for the Art of Performance at UCLA (CAP UCLA) to refine the exacting details of the piece for a performance at UCLA's Eli and Edythe Broad Art Center.
The piece was part of CAP UCLA's ambitious, multi-venue, multi-event presentation of Trisha Brown Dance Company: The Retrospective Project.
