Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Forest River Salem Hemisphere Lite, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Lippert Components' High Speed Power Stabilizer jack. For a direct replacement, part number is LC337199. For a new installation, we have a white switch kit, part number LC369774 and a black switch kit, part number LC298707.Now, by getting the camper stabilized, we're not going to have to worry about all that movement transferred all the way through. We've got the stabilizer here in the rear, there's also one up in the front. They're going to do a really good job so when people are walking around through the camper, if you're in the back, you're not going to feel it so much. Somebody gets up in the middle of the night to go outside, you're not going to feel that side to side and front to back movement. You can see by pushing on it, we get a little bit of side to side here on the back of the camper, but watch what happens when we retract it.
Using just that same force, it's going to rock much more easily and it tends to keep going. That force tends to generate or kind of keep shaking it back and forth. Watch again with it extended. As we push side to side, there's going to be a little bit of movement. Now, when we're in a situation where we have uneven ground, so maybe we're parked on a hillside. We're going to get our camper level.
That's still one of the steps that you have to take, but then we can extend the stabilizers. Now, this is a single motor with a single switch, but each one of them operate independently. Take a look as we make contact here, this is going to stop. The other one continues to go down and once they both make contact, that's going to evenly distribute that pressure upwards across the frame, giving us a nice stabilized camper. We also have a connection point here at our bracket that's going to run down. You can see these stabilizers on each side have a little bend put in them.
That's to give them some good rigidity and it kind of triangulates, so it comes through a single bolt and comes back up here. Not only does this help us with the side to side stabilization, but also the front to rear. You'll also notice our foot plate. It's going to be a nice large square, it gives us about five and a half inches side to side there, so it's going to help to spread that energy out over a greater area. That's going to eliminate the need for us to worry about it sinking down in as we deploy it.Now, the motor itself offers nice quiet operation.
It's not overly loud and it doesn't seem like it's working that hard to do what it needs to do. It's also very quick. It's about twice as quick as older models used to be. While the system is lightweight, it's very durable. The whole thing is completely made out of steel and it's going to have the black powder coat or yellow powder coat finish on it to resist corrosion for a very long time. When the stabilizer is fully retracted, you can see from the top of the mounting surface to the bottom doesn't take up a lot of room at all. We get a lot of benefits of it without having to worry about it being drug on the ground or bottoming out. Typically, what you'll find is that these stabilizers are going to sit up higher than what your bumper on the back would. One thing you really need to keep in mind is that this is designed for stabilizing your camper, not for leveling your camper. You'll still need to go through the process of getting it level and then we can quickly deploy our stabilizers to get everything nice and firmed up. Now, if you're looking for an all in one system, the Ground Control TT from Lippert Components, it's a good choice. It's going to give you a very similar type of unit. You're going to mount it on four corners, it's just a lot beefier and a lot stronger, designed specifically for leveling and st
