The MTM tuning company has its main HQ in Germany and a branch office in Poland. The latter has recently completed a particularly insane Audi RS6 Avant build boosted from its already-impressive 600 PS (592 hp / 441 kW) to 1,001 PS (987 hp / 736 kW). The family car now sprints like a racer on the track.
The torque simultaneously went up from 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) to 1,250 Nm (922 lb-ft). Despite its curb weight of two-something metric tons (4,500+ lbs), the stock Avant model needs 3.4 seconds for its standard sprint exercise. With the MTM tuning applied, it needs 2.5 seconds – not every track weapon can boast a launch this rapid. Another 5.4 seconds later, it hits 200 km/h (124 mph), and the top speed lies north of 330 km/h (205 mph).
From the engineering point of view, the project involves the installation of twin MTM turbos, new air intake and exhaust systems and a carbon-fiber intake manifold with a sports-grade filter. The engine and transmission software gets a major update as well. On the outside, the extreme Avant stays largely stock except for new wheels, a wrap and lowered suspension.@wheelfuture
