A redone version of my old Istanbul video.
0:00 Galata Tower
0:10 Hagia Sophia ("Sacred Wisdom" in Greek), the oldest and most famous mosque in Istanbul. Actually started life as a Byzantine church back in the 4th century. Became a mosque in the mid-1400s when the Ottomans invaded, then a secular museum during the reign of Kamal Ataturk, then finally a functioning mosque again in 2022. It is an incredible place.
0:15 The dense district hugging the hillside near Miniaturk Park.
0:19 I *believe* this is the Bosphorus but let me double-check.
0:24 Shops along Cemberlitas Street.
0:52 Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, a newcomer to the scene, having been built in the 1600s
1:16 Topkapi Palace. Cool enough from the outside but GORGEOUS on the inside.
1:28 The European side of Istanbul.
1:33 Fall foliage at Gulhane Park.
2:28 THE SEAGULLS. They cries constantly fill the air. By the way, at this little wharf area in the shadow of Galata Tower, you can buy the most delicious fish durums for 25 lira (about 2 bucks). They pull the fish directly out of the water and fry them up for you right there.
3:00 Miniaturk, a park featuring miniature replicas of all of Turkey's most famous landmarks and historical sites. The signs are...not always in perfect English, which can be amusing.
All footage was shot in 4K on my DJI Mini 2.
The song is "Hadi Gulum Yandan (FOC Remix)" by Baris Manco.
I've recently started up a travel blog, OneBadNomad.net. For a two-week itinerary of Turkish highlights, read my article "Two Weeks in Turkey: From Istanbul to Cappadocia" at [ Ссылка ].
