Planting Giant Miscanthus grass is a great way to make a permanent food plot screen that will grow much faster than trees. Miscanthus roots can be planted with a planting dibble or a tree planter.
Within 3 years miscanthus will grow to 9 feet. Planting a couple rows will provide a green wall that can be used as a visual barrier or to funnel deer movement or even to provide bedding areas.
Miscanthus is a tropical plant so won't reproduce in the North American climate but can be grown from root cuttings. The roots can be purchased from a miscanthus grower and replanted where you want them with a planting dibble or a tree planter.
