Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko made the announcement following talks in Kyiv with his Lithuanian counterpart Dalia Grybauskaite.
It remains unclear if Lithuania plans to provide weapons or follow the lead of the US in donating non-lethal military equipment to Ukraine's armed forces. Both leaders agreed to hold future joint military exercises in Lithuania.
